St. Patrick's Day Week

Easter Week

March 3rd & 4th

This week we celebrated everything Dr. Seuss in our classroom. Mrs. Kendra explained that Dr. Seuss was not a real doctor, but a guy with a funny name who liked to write funny books.

Mrs. Kendra shared some of her favorite Dr. Seuss books with the students. The best thing about his books, as silly as they are, is they always have a great message behind them!

Students learned from Horton Hears a Who that everyone matters, no matter how big or little they are, or what they look like. Green Eggs and Ham, taught students to try something new to eat, even if it doesn't look yummy, because it might be the most delicious thing you have ever eaten!

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish was great for reviewing our numbers and colors. And There's a Wocket in my Pocket taught students that rhyming words, even made-up ones, is fun. (I'm sure all of you saw the Wocket in your own child's pocket.)

Our letter of the week was Y and students practiced counting and coloring some Seuss-like items. Each child brought home an adorable bunny with them this week. We made them ahead of time so you can find a special place in your home to enjoy it this Easter season.

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the photos below.

Our sensory table is ready for St. Patrick's Day!

Counting fish! This paper came home with your child so you can reuse it as many times as you'd like.

Each child made his/her own Horton from Horton Hears a Who.

Y was our letter of the week. Students used the iPad to practicing tracing it.

Students worked on these ADORABLE bunnies last week and were excited to take the finished product home this week. It was hard to part with them!

On Friday, each student had a turn to paint at the painting center.
