September 2015

September 24th & 25th

This week students were getting into the fall spirit by learning about leaves. Students made some cute crafts, including a letter L covered in leaf stickers since that was the letter of the week. In recent weeks, the kiddos have been practicing tracing their names with pencils. Mrs. Jaime and Mrs. Karen write their names for them on their worksheets in yellow marker, then the students trace over the letters with a pencil. This is something you can do with your little one at home, too. Students also practiced tracing numbers 1-5 this week.

I hope everyone was able to enjoy Trike-a-Thon on Thursday evening. My toddler and I were there, but I know I didn't get to see everyone. It was a perfect night for such a fun event!

Thanks to the moms who are a part of our Play-Doh Club! As you can see, the kids love it!

September 17th & 18th

September 10th & 11th

This week the theme was Apples! Students learned the letter A this week and enjoyed crafts and stories that went along with the theme. Students wore green, the color of the week, on Thursday. The kiddos have been enjoying their playtime outside, too! Students even participated in a school-wide fire drill. They did an excellent job!

September 3rd & 4th

Students had fun with the Eric Carle theme for the week. They learned the letter E, and the number 3. Students LOVED the butterfly lady who came to LAP to show them her caterpillar eggs, caterpillars, chrysalises, and beautiful butterflies. They even saw her release some who were ready to migrate!

Mrs. Jaime had wonderful things to say about our class, so I hope the kiddos enjoyed learning with her as much as she enjoyed teaching them. Mrs. Kendra is thinking about everyone and will be excited to come back to teaching later in the fall! :)

Students started table-top centers this week.

Getting to see the butterflies up close!

Practicing with scissors.

Can you see the teeny, tiny caterpillar eggs?

A real caterpillar!
